Elephant Safari: Totally fearless of any other animals, the elephants are the traditional means exploring the jungle and wildlife known as the Lord of the jungle, they are the best means to watch tiger, rhino, deer, sloth bear and other wildlife.

Bird Watching: Before breakfast, in the morning our guide will take you up, he conducts you watching varieties of birds.

Canoe Rides: Reserve one hour for canoe ride. Our canoe ride relaxes you and will enable you to view the water inhabitants such as fish, crocodiles, birds & dear. Nature Walk or Jungle Walk: Our jungle guide takes you to view deer, rhino, wild bear, boar, Royal Bengal tiger and other wildlife.

Colourful Tharu Village : Experience the culture and traditional of the Tharu people. These Terai people live near the jungle and wildlife for centuries. At night the culture programme will be held and you can see the traditional dance of Tharu.

Tharu Stick Dance: A melodious tribal dance performed by Tharu men to the rhythms of drums and with clashing of stick embodies and projects how to drive away Rhino and other wild animals from human habitat. Once the driving away of animals is achieved, the dance turns into joyful. After dinner at the hotel /lodge/tented camp you can watch Tharu stick dance. We will arrange dance for your enjoyment.

Jungle Drive: The visitor stay with us more than 3 nights, who can go into the jungle's park to view birds and animals by driving a jeep. Our jungle drive in the jeep will take you more than 20km.inside the jungle from Rapti River to the Lama Lake .

One of the most exciting wildlife reserves in the World, lies 75 miles Southwest (165Km) of Kathmandu . Chitwan is now one of the finest protected forests & dense grassland regions in Asia and the home of magnificent and rare wildlife. Among the 14 national parks and wildlife reserves in the Kingdom of Nepal , The Royal Chitwan National Park (932 sq. km) is the most popular safari destination. More than 43 species of animals are still found in Chitwan. The endangered one-horned rhino, Royal Bengal tiger, Gharia crocodiles, four-horned antelope, striped hyena, and the gangetic dolphin are the main attractions here.

The park is much closed to Kathmandu , which is easily accessible (only 165km) by bus and air. Bharatpur airport adjoins the park is a 25 minutes away (there are daily flights from Kathmandu ). Many adventures also intent to go down by raft. However you go, a jungle safari is an experience you will remember for a long time.

Itinerary Detail

Day 01: Drive to Chitwan National Park upon arrival, rooms assigned and there will be a short briefing on the program and our facilities. 4:00 PM: Elephant-back safari: Guests will ride on an elephant to explore the jungle and wildlife you will be able to see the one-horned rhinoceros, several types of deer, monkeys, wild boar, bison, sloth bear, leopard and, if lucky, the Royal Bengal tiger. This exciting ride lasts for 2-3 hours. 7:00 PM: Dinner in the central dining hall. (B.L.D)

Day 02: 5:30 AM: Wake-up call followed by tea or coffee, and then proceeds on a Nature Walk. This encounter on foot with the environment will introduce the main features of eastern Chitwan. Sal forest, open grassland and reverie jungle. Our guides will help you identify some species of birds, plants and other wildlife that you may encounter.
8:30 AM: Breakfast
9:30 AM: Elephant briefing program: Learn more about these fascinating animals during a visit to our elephant stable. (For the brave ones there is even a crash course in riding and leading the elephants)
1.00 PM: Lunch. After lunch, canoeing: A traditional dugout canoe takes you on a silent trip down the Rapti river to view aquatic birds and the animals of the riverbanks. Back to resort through the Jungle.
7:00 PM: Tharu Stick dance: Farmers of the nearby villages will show some of their traditional skills and dances. 8:00 PM: Dinner around the camp firing. (B.L.D)

Day 03: Royal Chitwan National Park - Kathmandu
5.30 AM: Bird Watching (or another elephant ride) after early morning tea/coffee.
8.00 AM: Breakfast
9.00 AM: Luggage down and departure at 9.30 AM. to Kathmandu.
The actual program for your stay, will be given to you on arrival at Resort / camp. The activities are adjusted to the season and weather conditions. Naturally, it may not always be possible to follow this schedule to the minute and the circumstances may force us to alter the program at short notice. On safari in the jungle you will be accompanied by expert naturalists who will advise on safety procedures and we request you to respect their judgment at all times. Essential Information

Nepal's first and most famous national park is situated in the Chitwan Doon or the lowlands of the Inner Terai. Covering an area of 932 sq km. the park includes hilly areas of the Siwalik Range covered by deciduous sal forest. One fifth of the park is made up of the floodplains of the Narayani, Rapti, and the Reu Rivers and is covered by dense tall elephant grass interspersed with riverine forests of silk cotton (kapok), acacia and sisam trees. This ecologically diverse area is the last remaining home in Nepal for more than 300 of the endangered Asian one-horned rhinoceros and harbours one of the largest populations of the elusive and rare Bengal tiger. Besides rhino and tiger, Chitwan also supports a great variety of flora and fauna. There are four species of deer, including the spotted chittal, leopard, sloth bear, wild boar, rhesus monkey, grey langur monkey, wild dog, small wild cats, the white stockinged gaur (the world's largest wild cattle) and many other smaller animals. The swampy areas and numerous oxbow lakes of Chitwan provide a home for marsh crocodiles. In a stretch of the Narayani river is found one of the few remaining populations of the rare and endangered fish-only eating gharial, or Gangetic crocodile. Here also is found one of the world's four species of freshwater dolphins. For the ornithologist and the amateur bird-watcher the park offers excellent possibilities with more than 450 species recorded. Some of the resident specialities are several species of woodpeckers, hornbills, Bengal florican, and red-headed trogons. Winter birds such as waterfowl, Brahminy duck, pintails and bareheaded geese, amongst many other cold weather visitors are drawn by the sanctuary of the park's rivers. In the summer the forest is alive with nesting migrants such as the fabulous paradise flycatcher, the Indian pitta and parakeets.

Access:
Chitwan is easily accessible from Kathmandu, being well connected by a national highway to Bharatpur and to Sauraha. There are daily fights from October through May to Meghauli airstrip just outside the park boundary. Another exciting alternative is a two to three day raft trip down the Trishuli river to Narayanghat or directly into the western edge of the park.

Visitors can stay in one of the several lodges and camps inside or outside the park. Visitors can actively participate in exciting stalks through the forest looking for animals signs. One unique Chitwan experience is elephant back safaris in search of the one-horned rhinoceros, leopard, deer, bear, monkey and crocodile. Few visitors can ever forget the excitement of crashing through 20 feet high elephant grass and sightseeing wildlife. Apart from elephant safaris, the traveller will be happily occupied for several days with nature walks, canoe rides down the park rivers, and land-over drives through the forest.
