Langtang Valley Trek
Overview
Langtang is a narrow valley bordering to Tibet but still far away from Tibetan Plateau. In Langtang you will discover the heavenly beauty of the land with its rushing rivers and lush forests. A great influence of Tibet can be experienced in this valley. Tamang tribe is the main settler in this region. Langtang is protected as a national park and it has a number of high peaks which attracts lots of tourist. Langtang is the second largest National Park of Nepal and it is also one of the least crowded trekking destinations. There are around 4500 people who lives inside the park and more dependent in timber and firewood. The majority of people stays here are Tamangs. The park containes a wide variety of climatic zones, trees like Oak, Maple, Pine, Rhododendron. It also has animals like Himalayan black bear, Himalayan tahr (goat), Rhesus monkeys, Red Pandas.
This trekking trail gives you the oppurtunity to explore the villages, climb small peaks, visit glaciers at comfortably low elevations. This trek is only for 7-8 days but you will see more life here. Tibetan people lives here so there are more chances for you to see the culture of tibetan people and Tibetan influence is clearly visible here in this region.
This trekking can be done easily and because it is near Kathmandu so you donot have to spend more money in the transportation. Your trekking day will be started from Syabrubesi and then trek to north leaving some government buildings. You will enjoy the nice alpine views and tibetan-style villages.
Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Dhunche trek to Syabru (5 hrs) and overnight in teahouse.
Day 02: Shyabru Gau (2210m.) 5/1/2 hours walk. And After Breakfast Trek start 8 O’clock in the morning and Camp or lodge to stay in shyabru Gau (2210m.) 5 ½ hours walk. From Dhunche until 1 and ½ hours we will have to follow the road up to Barkhu village and from the Barkhu village the trail will go right side gently uphill through Bamboo and Oak trees with the panoramic views of Ganesh himal and Trishuli river valley. This day is passing few house and Jungle through the bamboo forest many chance to see the many different national birds and the trail goes straight and down hill to get to Shyabru village. The Shyabru is settlement belong the ridge more than 60 house all Tamang Majority and still they use their traditional dress and very frankly peoples.
Day 03: Lama Hotel (2340m.) 6 hours walks and.
After Breakfast Trek start 8 o’clock in the morning and Camp or Lodge to stay in Lama Hotel (2340m.) 6 hours walk. This day whole day we will walk through the Jungle we will have to cross several small rivers up to the Bombu and about 2 hours follow the Trishuli river bank and
1 and ½ hours uphill through the bamboo forest and 15 minutes straight to get to Lama Hotel. In this day we will see many different wild Animals.
Day 04: Langtang and (3330m.) 6 hours walk And After Breakfast Trek start 7/30 in the morning and camp or Lodge to stay in Lang tang (3330m.) 6 hours walk.
Day 05: Kyanjing (3730m.) 3 hours walk and After Breakfast Trek start 8/30 in the Morning and Kyanjing to Camp or Lodge to stay Camp or Lodge (3730m.) 3 hours walk.
Day 06: Rest day or for acclimatization’s for high altitudes, excoriations day around.
Day 07 : Kyanjin trek to Lama hotel (6hrs) and overnight in teahouse
Day 08 : Lama hotel trek to Briddim (6 hours) and overnight in home stay.
Day 09 : Briddim trek to Syabru Besi (4 hours) and overnight in teahouse.
